    Skip the loan altogether. They are a MAJOR ripoff. Adjust your withholdings so that you don’t get much of a refund when you file. That way you get YOUR money in YOUR paycheck each payday instead of being ripped off with insane interest rates just to get your refund a week early.

    Dear Jim: Most major tax companies will advance you part of your proposed refund if your credit is average. Do not miss any payments on credit cards, student loans etc. Don’t bounce any checks and just keep all accounts current. If you are talking about the tax season advance the same rules apply but there are more options during the tax season. Read all documents before signing to make sure you understand the terms.
